George H.W. Bush Presidential Library at Texas A&M University

The George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum is an excellent option for educational day trips. The Bush Presidential Library Museum is located less than 40 miles from Hill Top Luxury RV Resort on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station. It houses both permanent and rotating exhibits. The museum’s permanent collections cover the life of the former president and his wife, Barbara Bush, including his time as a congressman, the CIA and their private lives after his time in the White House.

Blue Bell Creameries

“You Scream, I Scream, We all Scream for Blue Bell Ice Cream,” at least here in Texas, we do. Blue Bell Creameries is known for making “the best ice cream in the country,” It is located only minutes from the Hill Top Luxury RV Resort. You can enjoy a self-guided tour or stop in for a scoop. The creamery opened in 1907 and offers a little trip back to your childhood as you enjoy their ice cream’s sweet aromas and flavors. We are still partial to vanilla!

A great glass of wine or a frosty craft beer is the best way to unwind and relax with friends and family. We are blessed to be nestled in an area with rich soil and creative souls that pride themselves on hospitality and serving libations you won’t forget. We encourage you to visit some of the area’s local wineries and breweries during your visit to the Hill Top.

Museums and History

If history is your thing, you’ve come to the right place. Washington County is the birthplace of Texas. On March 2, 1836, the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed, and Texas became a sovereign republic. While strolling through the area, you can visit the Texas Cotton Gin Museum, the original home of Dr. Anson Jones, the last President of the Republic of Texas, or a fully restored antique carousel.
